Colorado Recovery Coaching, LLC
Recovery is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. Recovery is more than simply abstinence from alcohol and other drugs.
Recovery coaching is a program that provides those recovering from addiction with support and assistance from a certified recovery coach to help identify what a person's "recovery capital" is and create recovery plans to reduce the risk of relapse and maintain sobriety.
Committing to a drug and alcohol free lifestyle is just that – a commitment, and it’s a big one that will take a lot a dedication.
A recovery coach is someone who is trained, certified, and interested in promoting recovery by removing barriers and obstacles to recovery by serving as a personal guide and mentor for people who are recovering or looking for recovery from substance use disorders.
Recovery coaches teach you how to live again without the use of substances to keep you happy. They are there to build you up at your weakest point and they focus on your entire life as part of your healing process.
Often, recovery coaches are in recovery themselves so they have firsthand knowledge of the struggles of addiction and know what has worked best for them to maintain long-term recovery.
A good recovery coach is a leader, a mentor, a partner, a therapist, a spiritual guide, and a cheerleader. They are there for you, day or night. They help you create a plan and achieve your goals. They keep you accountable. They connect you to important resources. They help you relearn how to communicate and reconnect with your family. They reintroduce you to sober fun. Having a recovery coach reduces the risk of relapse and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
The recovery coach and client relationship is based on the belief that the client is the expert on their own life. The coach simply provides support and expertise based on their own life experiences their own journey of recovery from substance use addiction.
You can expect a coach to help guide and support you in the following areas:
